Balayage- so what is it for those who do not know? Balayage is a French word meaning to sweep or to paint. It allows for a sun-kissed natural looking hair color – similar to what nature gives us as children – with softer, less noticeable regrowth lines. The principal idea being less is more when creating soft, natural looks.
I first learned how to do this technique up in Dallas at Form Salon. They have such a beautiful space and if you live up there, GET YOUR HAIR DONE THERE ASAP! They specialize in everything and they are the most exquisite educators I have met.
Leighanne Shelton was my balayage instructor and in 1 day of hardcore hands on training and bookwork, I learned to comfortable paint hair. I have been painting almost every day since the class in March, 2015 and I must say, I think I have really got my technique down. It is so fun to do.
Since working at Sabia I now work with a French trained guru of Balayage. Her name is Lauren and she is a continued education support system for me and daily inspiration. I watch her every moment I get and have picked up a few tricks that have made my balayage go from good, to great.
I love what I do and I hope you do too!
